The Most Important Question
The Roman Road — a path through Scripture that leads to the most important decision you will ever make.
The Roman Road is a collection of verses from the book of Romans that together tell the complete story of salvation — why we need it, what it cost, and how to receive it.
Read each step slowly. Let the words speak for themselves.
Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
The first step is recognizing the truth about ourselves. Every person — no matter how good they appear — has sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard. This is not condemnation; it is the starting point of honesty.
Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Sin carries a consequence: spiritual death and separation from God. But the same verse holds the greatest news ever spoken — eternal life is a free gift. Not earned, not deserved. Given.
Romans 5:8
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
You did not have to clean yourself up first. God did not wait for you to get it together. While you were still in your sin, Christ went to the cross for you. That is the depth of His love.
Romans 10:9
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Salvation is not a ritual or a checklist. It is a confession of faith — declaring with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. This is the moment everything changes.
Romans 10:13
"For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Whoever. That word leaves no one out. No past too dark, no failure too great, no distance too far. If you call on His name, you will be saved. That is a promise from God Himself.
Ready to Take the Step?
If you are ready to place your faith in Jesus Christ, pray this prayer from your heart. God hears every sincere word.
Heavenly Father, I come to You today acknowledging that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I turn from my sin and place my trust in You alone. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer and meant it, the Bible says you are saved (Romans 10:13). Find a Bible-believing church, begin reading God's Word, and tell someone about the decision you made today.
1 John 5:13
"These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life."
God wants you to know you are saved — not to wonder, not to hope, but to know.
